Enter net metal weight

A stone-set ring weighs more than its metal. Exclude gems and other components before entering a net weight. A plated object is not solid gold at its surface karat, so this solid-metal calculation is unsuitable without knowing the actual gold mass.

Convert the purity you have

Karat is expressed out of 24; fineness is expressed out of 1,000. For example, 18 karat corresponds mathematically to 750 fineness. This is a conversion of your supplied purity, not confirmation that a hallmark is accurate.

Use your own price and record its basis

Enter a spot price per gram or fine troy ounce and choose the currency label. A troy ounce is 31.1034768 g and differs from an ordinary avoirdupois ounce. No price or exchange rate is fetched; results use exactly the input you provide.

Separate value from a buying offer

The mixed-lot result totals the gold fraction of each net metal weight. A payout percentage shows an illustrative deduction from that metal value. Testing, refining charges, collectible premiums and the buyer’s terms can change an actual offer.
